Job Title:        Network Project Engineer - Singapore

Department:   Global Customer Care

Reports to:     Sr. Manager – Network Project Engineering




The Project Engineering group within the Global Customer Care (GCC) organization will be primarily focused on supporting service requests.  This will include provisioning, configuring, testing, commissioning and documenting new or modified services for customers. The project engineers will work with Global Engineering in the implementation of standards in support of coordinating and deployment of new or modified services. The Project Engineering team will work closely with Operations (Project Management/Service Coordination) on assignment of resources, scheduling, moves/adds/changes while in the project phase until the project is completed and turned over to the NOC. 


  • Configuration and Provisioning of Remote and Hub-side Network Components.
    • New projects and existing service changes.
  • Provide support to remote field personnel while installing project related services.
  • Responsible for updating documentation and drawings relating to projects and service changes for handover to Network Operations Center (NOC) for support.
  • Responsible for following RigNet Change Management process. Documenting and submitting Method of Proceedure documentation.
  • Lateral consultation/in house support for NOC engineering / Global Engineering / Operations / PMO.




Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • CCNA Routing and Switching or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years experience supporting enterprise Cisco Network
  • Experience in supporting Cisco Unified Communications
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols
  • Ability to work well individually or on a global team and share information.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer applications
    • Visio/Excel/Word/Outlook

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.


Description: This position requires a moderate amount of stamina with the ability to perform the above essential job functions and within timetables.  Some overtime work will be required.


Lifting: The employee must be able to lift up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally for short durations.


Carrying: The employee must be able to carry up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally for short distances.


Pushing/Pulling: The employee must be able to push/pull up to 5 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally usually from desk level to floor or floor to desk level.


Other Physical Requirements: Upper extremity usage, motor coordination, range of motion, vision, hearing and balance should be in a range to safely preclude the harm or injury to the employee in this position or the harm or injury to other employees.


Environmental Considerations: The employee will in most cases work in a central air-conditioned building; however, may be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and to changes of weather when exposed to outdoors at job sites or other locations.
